The Pricing module, under AI Spend > Pricing, shows the effective price of each provider and model combination used by the AI Gateway and lets you negotiate your own rate. This price is the basis for the estimated costs in input, output and cache tokens.
NOTEAny price change made on this screen β customizing, editing, restoring or deleting β only applies to usage from that moment on. Requests made before the change keep the price that was in effect when they happened; their already-calculated costs are not recalculated.

Every provider and model combination always has a single active pricing source:
The Pricing page lists every provider and model combination with an active price (default or custom), with pagination.
Filters available above the table:
Columns shown in the table:
MODELS USED WITHOUT AN ACTIVE PRICEWhen one or more Routes use a provider and model that has no active price yet, a warning appears at the top of the list with an Add custom price shortcut for that combination. In the meantime, usage of those models is counted in tokens but excluded from cost figures.
Click the View details icon (magnifying glass) on the desired row to open a read-only screen (route /pricing/<provider>/<model>/view) with:
If the combination has no active price yet, the screen shows only the notice that usage is counted in tokens and excluded from cost, with a shortcut to add a custom price.
Actions available per source:
Source | Actions |
|---|---|
| Default | Customize pricing β opens the form to create a custom price, without changing the default price. |
| Overridden | Edit override β adjusts the custom price; Restore default pricing β removes the customization and goes back to the default price (see Restore). |
| Custom | Edit β adjusts the custom price; Delete custom pricing β removes the price, leaving the model with no active price (see Delete). |
Use this flow for a model that does not exist in the default catalog (for example, a self-hosted or very recent model).
On the Pricing page, click Add custom price (above the table, or on the warning for models with no active price).
Select the Provider and enter the Model β the exact ID received by the gateway (for example gpt-4.1 or claude-sonnet-4; see Form fields).
Fill in Input and Output (required) and, if it makes sense for your contract, Cache read and Cache write (optional β when left blank, they use the same value as Input). Track the estimate in Simulate the cost of a request.
If the provider and model combination already has a default or custom price registered, the form rejects the submission and points you to customize or edit the existing configuration instead of duplicating it.
Use this flow to negotiate your own rate for a model that already has a default price in the catalog (source Default).
Open the model's View details and click Customize pricing (or go directly to the route /pricing/<provider>/<model>/edit). The form opens with Provider and Model fixed and the price fields blank, next to the default price of reference for each dimension.
THE DEFAULT PRICE IS NOT CHANGEDCustomizing creates your own price (the source becomes Overridden); the catalog's default price still exists and remains available as a reference and for restoring.
Fill in Input and Output (required). Cache read and Cache write are only required when the default price already has its own value for that dimension β otherwise they are optional and, when left blank, use the customized Input value. Click Save.
Open the model's View details and click Edit override (source Overridden) or Edit (source Custom), or go directly to the route /pricing/<provider>/<model>/edit. Adjust the fields you need (see Form fields) and click Save.
NO CHANGE, NOTHING TO SUBMITIf you save without changing any value from the current effective price, the form submits nothing β there is no need to confirm a cancellation.
The custom price form includes a Cost preview with the Input and Output values entered and a simulator: it starts from a typical request (a predefined input and output token count) and recalculates the estimated cost per request as you adjust the Input tokens and Output tokens fields. Use Reset to typical request to go back to the starting values.
Available only for the Overridden source. On the model's View details, click Restore default pricing. The confirmation dialog shows, dimension by dimension, the current custom price and the default price it will revert to.
WARNINGRestoring removes the custom price and switches to the default price from this moment on.
Available only for the Custom source (model with no default price in the catalog). On the model's View details, click Delete custom pricing and confirm in the dialog.
THE MODEL IS LEFT WITH NO ACTIVE PRICEAfter deletion, the provider and model combination no longer has any active price: usage goes back to being counted only in tokens and is excluded from cost figures until a new price is registered (see Add a custom price).
The table below covers every field of the custom price form (create, customize and edit).
