Resilience mechanisms

The platform modules can be provisioned with resilience mechanisms, such as:

  • Multiple availability zones and active-active model;

  • Self-healing systems;

  • Load balancing;

  • Auto scaling.

By default, the use of multiple availability zones and the active-active model can be configured on demand, according to internal operational parameters specific to each use case or seasonality context.

The diagram below illustrates the architecture with multiple availability zones and active-active model (when both are applied). Although it focuses on the gateway, this same concept applies to any module of the platform, including databases, cache, messaging, etc.

multiple zones
Macro process
  1. The request arrives at one of the load balancer’s entry points. The entry points operate in the active-active model, when configured this way.

  2. The load balancer forwards the request to an available gateway.

  3. The gateway goes out to the internet through NAT gateways.

  4. The request reaches the backend.
