WAF can be used to **protect integrations**, especially REST type integrations.
The customer is responsible for contracting the WAF and also for its management.

At a macro level, the activation process is:

* Change DNS to the WAF provider.
* Configure the WAF provider "*upstream*" to the DNS ALIAS.
  * It is important that the WAF maintains the *host header* of the original request, which is the default behavior in most *vendors*.
